"It gives me
immense pleasure in inviting one and all for the first National Conference of
the Geriatric Orthopaedic Society of India (GOSI) at Bangalore. I am sure that most of
the practicing
fellow-Orthopaedic surgeons across the country and globe
are facing the dilemma of treating the Geriatric Orthopaedic
patients on a daily basis. By 2025,
India will have more than 1.3 billion population, out of which
nearly 50% will be senior citizens.There is a
lot of work for all of us and together we can make a
positive difference to our country and mankind at large.
Friends, most of the Orthopaedic surgeons in India will also
come under that umbrella in the near future, hence it is
the right time that we position ourselves to handle these
issues. We have eminent faculty from abroad, India and from all
walks of life to enrich our knowledge on these issues. I urge each
one of you to enroll as members and encourage your colleagues
to enroll in this society to make it a bigger, stronger society."
